How much you love your job ???

Choosing a career and Landing a job — these are important events in one's life.

While we all need to choose a job, and have been `training' for it since we leave school, not everyone lands a job, which they would love to do. There are a good number of people who feel trapped in careers that they do not enjoy. It is especially frustrating when a person finds himself working in an area, which is at total variance to what he has been trained for. This makes him feel that he has somehow wasted all those years of learning! What is more, he may find himself ill equipped to deal with his job and compete with others in his workplace, as he has actually been trained for something quite different. After all, when you love your job, you do not just have a career, but a passion, and being paid for it is a bonus!

You know you love your job when----

.You know what is expected of you at work.
.You have opportunities to use your talents in their roles every day.
.When you receive recognition regularly and feel cared for.
.When You have strong bonds with your coworkers.
.When you receive ongoing feedback on your performance and have regularly scheduled progress .discussions..................,more and more 'n' more.....

While you may not love your job, the ground reality may be that you just have to go on with it for practical reasons.

In which case, try to develop an interest in your job. It is possible!

Try to design thought and intellect into an otherwise mundane, routine job.

Maybe you could learn new skills and implement them so that you may enjoy your work.

If you are abreast with the latest happenings in your area of work, you will feel confident enough to deal with it authoritatively and that will ultimately help you develop a liking for your job.

After all, we all need to earn our bread and butter. So why don't we ensure that we enjoy doing it?

I'll go anywhere as long as it's forward."— David Livingstone

5 Ways to Keep Visitors Coming Back to a website

A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of their traffic. Returning visitors are easier to convert into paying customers because the more often they return to a site, the more trust they have in that site. The credibility issue just melts away. Hence, keep your visitors coming back to your site with the following methods:

1) Start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox

When you start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox, you are providing your visitors a place to voice their opinions and interact with their peers — all of them are visitors of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will also follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.

2) Start a web log (blog)

Keep an online journal, or more commonly known as a blog, on your site and keep it updated with latest news about yourself. Human beings are curious creatures and they will keep their eyes glued to the monitor if you post fresh news frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.

3) Carry out polls or surveys

Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should definitely consider adding to your site. They provide a quick way for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls or surveys that are strongly relevant to the target market of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.

4) Hold puzzles, quizzes and games

Just imagine how many office workers procrastinate at work every day, and you will be able to gauge how many people will keep visiting your site if you provide a very interesting or addicting way of entertainment. You can also hold competitions to award the high score winner to keep people trying continuously to earn the prize.

5) Update frequently with fresh content

Update your site frequently with fresh content so that every time your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most widely known and most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this is also the least carried out one because of the laziness of webmasters. No one will want to browse a site that looks the same over ten years, so keep your site updated with fresh bites!

Five Common Email Marketing Mistakes

When you have an opt in email list, you have a valuable asset that should be generating you recurring revenue every time you use it. If you abuse it, then you risk the opt out and won't get another chance to sell to someone who was interested in your product.

1. Using Words in Your Subject Lines that Trigger Spam Filters - Your email marketing message is completely worthless if it never gets there. Keep these words out of your email subject lines for better deliverablity.
2. Using Only Images and Little to No Text - Many users block all images in their emails. Some of them have email programs which do this automatically to every email address that hasn't been whitelisted. Don't assume your email list will have the images turned on or even that they'll turn them on to see what you sent. If you do, they may end up looking at a blank emails and you'll always get lower response rates.
3. Designing an email as if it's a website - This should be a simple email marketing campaign. Sure it needs to reflect your company branding but leave out the flash, javascript and any bells and whistles so that the message gets across and the email is rendered.
4. Adding the Wrong Reply Email - Yes, it happens. Sometimes by accident and sometimes even on purpose because people want to try and avoid spam filters. It's a bad idea.
5. Missing Information - Don't leave out the from name and contact information and especially your links back to your landing page.

CSRF attack or One click attack Or Session Riding

Cross-site request forgery, also known as a one-click attack or session riding and abbreviated as CSRF or XSRF, is a type of malicious exploit of a website whereby unauthorized commands are transmitted from a user that the website trusts. Unlike cross-site scripting (XSS), which exploits the trust a user has for a particular site, CSRF exploits the trust that a site has in a user's browser.

Change default Port for the ASP.NET Development Server

When you use the ASP.NET Development Server to run a file-system Web site, by default, the Web server is invoked on a randomly selected port for localhost. For example, if you are testing a page called Default.aspx, when you run the page on the ASP.NET Development Server, the URL of the page might be the following:

http://localhost:2049/Default.aspx

To specify a port for the ASP.NET Development Server
  1. In Solution Explorer, click the name of the application.

  2. In the Properties pane, click the down-arrow beside Use dynamic ports and select False from the dropdown list.

This will enable editing of the Port number property.

  3. In the Properties pane, click the text box beside Port number and type in a port number.

  4. Click outside of the Properties pane. This saves the property settings.

Each time you run a file-system Web site within Visual Web Developer, the ASP.NET Development Server will listen on the specified port.

Please note the above steps are based on WebSite/ WebServices project. For the Web Application project, we can fix the port number by following steps:

1. Right click the Project in the Solution Explorer, and then select “Properties”
2. Click “Web” tab.
3. Check “Specific port” instead of “Auto-assign Port”.

If you want to debug with IIS, please follow the first and second steps above, and then check “Use IIS Web Server” instead of “Use Visual Studio Development Server”. Also, click the “Create Virtual Directory” button.

Note:

Visual Web Developer cannot guarantee that the port you specify will be available when you run your file-system Web site. If the port is in use when you run a page, Visual Web Developer displays an error message.
